Holiday Wish List Raises Record Sum – Thank You!

Supporters contributed a record $138,000, making it possible for KiDS of NYU to fund all designated requests to the 2009 Holiday Wish List.

“The generosity of our donors is unparalleled,” said Alice Tisch, chair of KiDS of NYU Foundation. “We are so grateful to all who contributed.”

The annual holiday appeal this year offered a dollar-for-dollar match (up to $50,000) from the members of the KiDS of NYU Board, 100 percent of whom contributed.

The KiDS Wish List provides for items such as child-size equipment, playthings and special programs that are not typically included in the hospital budget, but that can make a significant difference in providing comfort to and reducing stress for children who receive pediatric treatment at NYU Langone Medical Center.

Wish List proposals from pediatric and pediatric subspecialty physicians and staff were submitted to KiDS in late autumn. Funding will be awarded in February 2010 as part of the KiDS Annual Grant Awards. Check back here, and join the KiDS of NYU facebook page, for updates on how KiDS grants help.
